The Strand Pattern 23 was the first mass-produced theatre spotlight in the World. Strand was founded in 1914 in London by Arthur Earnshaw and Phillip Sheridan, both theatre electricians. In 1926, the company exported its product in New York to  supply Broadway. Today America and Europe still work hand by hand within Philips company.
